Week 12 and 13, work, work, work and trip to Blackpool part 2

12th week was all about studying at workshop from 10 AM to 4 PM and after that doing my reports, digital drawings and backpack from plastic. I have didn't really do anything else in that week. Quite boring.

I lost many of my works at Friday when my computer crashed. And had to start my shoe project report all over again from the start. I was slightly panicking, because my report was meant to print as a book and I really liked this module. It is part of Concept Design module where I do a report as a book and two shoe models to present my chosen shoe model.

Most of the time at last week redrew few of my digital drawings. I had a task to "recreate" a digital paintings from a chosen designer and I chose Filip Chaeder, Swedish industrial designer who does also some digital paintings at his free time. Mine is the one on the left and original is on the right.

At Saturday our hall had mysterious egg hunt. We went there with Nina and had fun time with finding chicks. We had 10 hints of locations of 10 yellow chicks and took pictures as a proof we found those. We wanted so badly easter eggs so, we came at second place and we won big Cadbury chocolate eggs.

I finished my first shoe model at last week, so I had to start now my second one, from harder and heavier red foam. I had fun time with doing that during weeks 12 and 13. My legs were in pain from sitting so long time and I had small dust from foam everywhere.

The last week(week 13) before deadline exhausting, so I tried to have pauses and go outside every time is was possible. I was inside so long time during these weeks, I had to clear my head few times before finishing my reports. At last week, inside our design building was equality exhibition and after they build it in there I finally felt spring has come permanently. Exhibition was a fresh air in the hall and I took some beautiful pictures of the window above exhibition.

Two days before deadlines, I went outside with Nina and we were just walking from church to church. We had few places we not been and we decided to go there and find them. One of the places was this tall church we see from our school. Other one was the river. We knew there's somewhere in Preston a river, but we never saw it before, so we checked it out. During our almost two hour walk, we saw really long grass, some other nice old buildings and a black cat....and we hunted certain ice cream from 7 different shops :D

When assignments were over, and Saturday came, we went to Blackpool with my partner. I was wondering is there anything to see, but yeah, I was wrong. Last time we were there, we visited at theme park, nowhere else. At this time we went straight to the beach and walked there when sun was shining so brightly. Just looking at sea sky and the land is so beautiful. I haven't really seen so 'empty' nature places so this was perfect for Finnish person.

This scene is so beautiful!

I saw at last time some extreme rides on the beach and this time I tried one called Swinger. I had hardness around me attached to the rope. It was really pleasant feeling, not so extreme than I thought, but really nice though. We didn't really do a lot in there, just walked, I ate ice cream and bought sunglasses after trying almost 30 different ones and then we ate. When sunset was near we came back to the beach and took some pictures. At the same time there was a wedding couple taking beautiful beach photos.

Week 11, Trip to Alton Towers

I was still feeling little bit sick at this week. I don't know did I get a cold or was I too stressed about everything. I have been several times sick just after school end and now I didn't have any pauses to this day and next break I have is 2 weeks around Easter.

At the beginning of this week there was a shower of hail at outside. And just on the time I walked to my school ( 2 minutes walk). What a luck! I was so confused at first. I won't remember when was hailstorm last time in Finland either.

Almost whole week I was siting at the workshop and carving and sanding my foam shoe model. I had really fun time doing it! I was so scared it would be like pain in my ass, but it turned out to be really enjoyable. I haven't done anything in a so long time so I felt I don't have any skills anymore. During doing my shoe, many people came to say to me that is really good looking. Most of the people were random people from school. Even the master of the workshop said, I was doing nice job! :D

At Saturday, I had again long day. I was thinking to work this weekend with assignments, but this one guy said he wants to go at Alton Towers theme park at it's opening weekend. It's hard to say no to people you like. :D So we went there.

Alton Towers is theme park, with hotel villages, in Staffordshire. The site was built in 1860 and theme park was opened in site in 1980. Alton Towers is special theme park with lots of space to wander, inside forest and it's located middle of nowhere. There's lots of gardens and old buildings with ponds.

Gotta say it was fun day. Crazy rides, beautiful views, nice company and good, cheap food. There was some rides which had some crazy features I had never experienced before. One of the rides went so smoothly, it even felt good all the time. Usually I go to crazy rides cause I want that adrenaline feeling, but this didn't have it, but still one of the best rides ever had.

After theme park closed, we went to forest near Alton Towers and saw sunset and Alton castle. You could get to the theme park through forest, one side of the theme park does not have fence. I also found Mölkky, Finnish game from near theme park, unfortunately I couldn't take any evidence pictures cause  I didn't bring my phone in there.

Week 10, Trip to Durham

Week when I felt like I didn't get anything done and I was struggling with the assignments. I spend almost all the time either watching interesting series in Netflix or wondering how to continue with my school woks. Luckily, Monday wasn't so bad and I spend my evening at Stockport Climbing centre.

I continued my shoe project at school and cut the pieces from foam with Nina's help. I had to do the workshop introduction lessons first, after that I could use workshop. After these busy hours I went again climbing and way back I finally looked up the small beautiful church I were looking for a long time. I also got some free stuff from Uni, like palette knives, circle ruler and super glue.

Finally free stuff I like and need!

The Light of the Hill - church

At the weekend I had train trip to Durham through Carlisle and Newcastle. My main point for that trip was to see the Durham Cathedral and the cloister which was used in Harry Potter films. The trip was success! Durham was lovely, small, hilly town and full of old buildings and narrow roads. We didn't spent any more time at Durham than needed and rushed back to the Newcastle.

There was few things to see in Newcastle, and all those attractions were near each other, I only took pictures and I didn't go inside the buildings. Just wanted to see as much places as possible. There was many bridges and old pieces of castle I saw near the river. Newcastle also had awesome looking Sage Gateshead concert venue and Gateshead Millennium bridge. After these places, my partner wanted to walk to the big shopping centre which was maybe 4 miles away from the city centre. It was a long walk....

One of the nicest blue bridges I've seen.

Way back to Preston was hard. I was feeling so tired waking up so early and having full day in new place. At Sunday, I should have had Three peak challenge trip in Yorkshire, but I didn't feel so well at that morning. Good choice for me, others didn't get even halfway cause heavy rain and wind. I didn't miss so much.
