After those late hour days I was ill. I had sore throat, headache and fizzy feeling so end of the week I tried to just relax. I ate lots of fruits and started watching Orange is New Black TV program. And that's really good! I wonder why I haven't started it earlier...

I broke my SIGG bottle so I saved the lid and silicon bottom and those fit perfectly together. It came as small container :D
Week 5 started with Runeberg tortes. In Finland we celebrate poetry writer Johan Ludwig Runeberg's birthday at 5th of February. It is pastry flavored with almonds and arrack or rum, but we didn't have all ingredients so we left out arrack/rum and I don't use those anyway. We had most important ingredients raspberry jam and sugar icing ring.

See the colors! White and blue like flag of Finland.
At the same day I went to climbing to Depot climbing centre with UMC (UCLan Mountaineering Club). We took minibus and drove to Manchester at 6 pm and came back to Preston at 11 pm. It was long day, but worth it! It was huge bouldering centre with many walls so you won't be bored! There was more colder than I have used to and half of the time I didn't feel my toes. But I'm not scared of little bit of pain. :D And I tried to find good climbing shoes to buy, but didn't find any which would fit my feet well. Suddenly I found those from Preston 3 days later.

So many people.
At Tuesday UCLan had Vintage Fairs - event and Green Week day. I got free recycled plastic UCLan waterbottle, UCland fabric grocery bag and "How to be a student and not destroy planet Earth" - handbook. I think I just like recycling too much so those were really nice gifts. I just wonder why that handbook haves 100 pages, it's nicely illustrated and easy to read, but I'm sure they could cut half of the pages at least.

Victoria building where I study art had gallery of ceramics and there were cute little humans. :D
I visited at the same day Moon Park and Harris Museum & Art Gallery.

Saturday. The day I travelled alone to York and back. I woke up at 5:30 and my train left at 6:30. So early morning! But it was worth it! York is tourist place and there were lots of people everywhere I went. The day was cloudy, little bit rainy and really windy, my hands were frozen all the time.
At first I went to Memorial Gardens and Museum Gardens. Gardens here have lots of grass and trees and not so much flowers, but maybe that's it's not summer yet. Museum Garden had many squirrels, St Mary's Abbey and Yorkshire Museum. I fed many squirrels which weren't scared humans at all. Museum of Yorkshire was beautiful from inside like everything at here! :D There was even some bones of dinosaurs! How cool! I didn't expect to see those in here small town.
Next place was Minster/ Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of St Peter. It is biggest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe with beautiful ceilings and architecture. I took lots of pictures from there, but most of them were not so good. I should get luminous lens for my camera...But heres some.
I wondered in narrow streets and alleys which were like from Harry Potter movies. I think J.K. Rowling got the inspiration to Diagon Alley from York. Maybe. There was so many colorful small shops with romantic style. And some unique boutiques which sold tea, chocolate, cheese, art or soap. I bought many souvenirs from there and also some sweets like handmade chocolate. There was this crazy Yorkshire soap shop with cake shaped soaps and strong aromas. I'm not fan of strong smells, but I found something nice for myself also. Green tea soap for face.
I saw Jorvik museum and Teddybear shop with cafe upstairs. Most of the time I just were walking back and forward trying to find some shops I saw earlier, but didn't buy anything at the first time. I didn't have enough time to see everything I wanted, so I'll go there again. York belongs county on Yorkshire and around Yorkshire theres so many beautiful places and buildings I would like to visit especially in the later spring.
York was really beautiful, romantic small town with old buildings. Easy to go and you won't get lost in there. It resembled capital of Czech republic, Prague which I also really liked. So if you like Prague, you should visit York also.
