Week 6, Big drawing assignment and trip to Blackpool

I have been trampoline jumping when I was younger. We didn't have own trampoline, when every other kid had. I remember I was so angry when mom said again and again no to trampoline. You can't have everything you want in your life. :D

At last week's Sunday I was Trampoline Park, Energi Preston. I hadn't been any trampoline park before that, so it was exciting to try. Every hour, there was different people jumping, cause you have only one hour time to use those trampolines. The price was around 10£ and if you don't already have socks with rubber bottoms, you have to buy those. So I really felt like small child with those socks.

After 20 minutes I already felt like this is going to last forever. It was harder than I remembered. :D
I liked most the game where you had to jump all the time and there was screen on the wall and I had to hit the circle which was colored. I tried the one for smaller people and I got 48 as my score! There was minute time limit. After that my muscles felt so dead. :D And many days later I still felt the pain.

It must have been funny to watch two young adults trying
trampoline jumping between kids :D

Beginning of this week I had big drawing assignment about shoes. So I had to draw 40 different sketches of shoes. I did it in two days, but at the first day I was really slow at drawing. I wasn't used to draw shoes, everything looked weird especially when my drawings had to be garden shoes and wellington boots. At the second day it was quite enjoyable. For the next week I have to draw more wellington boots, that's the route I chose with my teacher. Good thing is I like wellington boots and have quite experience of using those. :D

At Tuesday it was Valentines Day. I see here it's a big thing. They sell everywhere valentines cards, red decorations and other too sweet Valentines day stuff. In Finland we celebrate Friends Day of 14th of Feb. of course it's for lovers also, but mostly for friends. There was time when I sent cards to everyone. Now I think I'm too busy. And to me it's day like every else, never been doing anything special at that day. :D

What I did at 14th of Feb. :D
What I saw everywhere.

I'm starting to see how not using Sauna weekly or even monthly is effecting to me. When I shower there's lots of brown dead skin coming of my hole body. Never had that before. If I even little bit scrub my skin I can't see end for skin peeling off. I knew using sauna clears your skin, but never thought it's really this effective! Literally my body screams I have to go to sauna! I think I have to try one and go there, but I'm too sacred that I'll disappoint to saunas at here.

At Sunday we had trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach amusement park. It was really memorable visit, I have been at amusement parks in summer and now it was only middle of February! So it was colder weather than I am used to go. Weather was fine when we arrived, around 9 degrees and cloudy. But during day it was more foggier and colder. There was some times it even rained.

So foggy

Maybe it wasn't best time to go there, but it was fun day. We tried almost everything. I'm that kind of girl who likes try even craziest rides in amusement park. Maybe scariest ones were those old roller coasters when I felt my butt was in the air at some point. There was also one interesting ride called Red Arrows Skyforce. There was small separate planes and those were going slowly a circle. The thing was you had to rock your body left and right and move wings with your hands. At one point when swinging move was big enough you could keep swings at one place and you were just going around all the time.

That was my week this time. I'm trying to do something special at every week so I could have something to put on my blog. :)

I wanted to try horse carousel, so we tried it! :D
Stares to ocean and fog.
This looked so good. Could be really nice at summer.

Week 4 & 5, Lots of studying, being ill and, trip to York

Beginning of week 4 I was studying, studying and more studying. I had assignment sooner than I thought and I didn't really prepare for it early enough.  One night I studied until 3:30 am. that's really late for me, cause I usually go to sleep between 10 to 12 pm. :D I did my assignment well though and I was proud of myself for a long time! After this I realized in Finland I don't have to do almost anything for school and cause that I have been used to be really lazy... But this is good, I start my thesis at autumn so this is just practice to study hard.

After those late hour days I was ill. I had sore throat, headache and fizzy feeling so end of the week I tried to just relax.  I ate lots of fruits and started watching Orange is New Black TV program. And that's really good! I wonder why I haven't started it earlier...

I broke my SIGG bottle so I saved the lid and silicon bottom and
those fit perfectly together. It came as small container :D

Week 5 started with Runeberg tortes. In Finland we celebrate poetry writer Johan Ludwig Runeberg's birthday at 5th of February. It is pastry flavored with almonds and arrack or rum, but we didn't have all ingredients so we left out arrack/rum and I don't use those anyway. We had most important ingredients raspberry jam and sugar icing ring.

See the colors! White and blue like flag of Finland.

At the same day I went to climbing to Depot climbing centre with UMC (UCLan Mountaineering Club). We took minibus and drove to Manchester at 6 pm and came back to Preston at 11 pm. It was long day, but worth it! It was huge bouldering centre with many walls so you won't be bored! There was more colder than I have used to and half of the time I didn't feel my toes. But I'm not scared of little bit of pain. :D And I tried to find good climbing shoes to buy, but didn't find any which would fit my feet well. Suddenly I found those from Preston 3 days later.

So many people.

At Tuesday UCLan had Vintage Fairs - event and Green Week day. I got free recycled plastic UCLan waterbottle, UCland fabric grocery bag and "How to be a student and not destroy planet Earth" - handbook. I think I just like recycling too much so those were really nice gifts. I just wonder why that handbook haves 100 pages, it's nicely illustrated and easy to read, but I'm sure they could cut half of the pages at least.

Victoria building where I study art had gallery of
ceramics and there were cute little humans. :D

I visited at the same day Moon Park and Harris Museum & Art Gallery.

Saturday. The day I travelled alone to York and back. I woke up at 5:30 and my train left at 6:30. So early morning! But it was worth it! York is tourist place and there were lots of people everywhere I went. The day was cloudy, little bit rainy and really windy, my hands were frozen all the time.

At first I went to Memorial Gardens and Museum Gardens. Gardens here have lots of grass and trees and not so much flowers, but maybe that's it's not summer yet. Museum Garden had many squirrels, St Mary's Abbey and Yorkshire Museum. I fed many squirrels which weren't scared humans at all. Museum of Yorkshire was beautiful from inside like everything at here! :D There was even some bones of dinosaurs! How cool! I didn't expect to see those in here small town.

Next place was Minster/ Cathedral and Metropolitical  Church of St Peter. It is biggest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe with beautiful ceilings and  architecture. I took lots of pictures from there, but most of them were not so good. I should get luminous lens for my camera...But heres some.

I wondered in narrow streets and alleys which were like from Harry Potter movies. I think J.K. Rowling got the inspiration to Diagon Alley from York. Maybe. There was so many colorful small shops with romantic style. And some unique boutiques which sold tea, chocolate, cheese, art or soap. I bought many souvenirs from there and also some sweets like handmade chocolate. There was this crazy Yorkshire soap shop with cake shaped soaps and strong aromas. I'm not fan of strong smells, but I found something nice for myself also. Green tea soap for face.

I saw Jorvik museum and Teddybear shop with cafe upstairs. Most of the time I just were walking back and forward trying to find some shops I saw earlier, but didn't buy anything at the first time.  I didn't have enough time to see everything I wanted, so I'll go there again. York belongs county on Yorkshire and around Yorkshire theres so many beautiful places and buildings I would like to visit especially in the later spring.

York was really beautiful, romantic small town with old buildings. Easy to go and you won't get lost in there. It resembled capital of Czech republic, Prague which I also really liked. So if you like Prague, you should visit York also.

Week 3 and trip to Mancehster

This week I really enjoyed little things. When someone braid my hair, people smiled when they passed me on the streets. I really liked to open new honey bottle or someone from Finland sent me a text or when I was hungry and finally got some food to eat. I also listened music almost all the time during week. Just discovered some new bands and older ones.

First time I tried wall climbing with ropes. I joined to Mountaineering society and we went to West View Leisure Centre to climb. I enjoyed it, cause I really like climbing, but I realized I don't like to be attached with ropes. My glasses almost fell of and rope was little bit on the way while climbing.  I learned quite quickly how to do the right knot, but when I had to be the person on the other side of the rope and hold it, I just didn't understand how it works.

Luckily that place had bouldering walls also, so I was half of the time there, on those walls. I just prefer bouldering and I have been doing it over 2 years, I feel like I can be free and climb how slow or fast I want and not depending any other person. That I like. Unfortunately I have to find shoes somewhere, here it's not so common to borrow shoes from climbing center and it costs more than in Finland.

That day the sunset was beautiful when I left the climbing centre, but it was still cold weather.

The next morning I went to our school gym which have awesome name: Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre. I was running on the treadmill and did some push ups after that. I am used to run at soft ground, here I can feel I have been running, my legs hurt little bit at next day. I was so happy at that morning, cause I did 7 push ups! It's a long time I got so many! Exactly 4 years ago I did 10 pus ups, so maybe I break my record here.

When you arrive to the gym, this guy is welcoming you!
Lots of stairs to go

That was almost everything special I did this week. On weekend I had a trip to Manchester, it's nearest big city from Preston. It was my first time in there I bought ticket from online and second time I used train. Unfortunately it was maybe the busiest hour using train, there was lots of people.

The train station was huge at Manchester! Just being terrified when I go to London some day. I haven't planned yet, but I know I have to get there even once! I'm just scared of bigger cities transportation, that's why I also avoid Helsinki in Finland. :D

I visited the Manchester Central Library, Museum of Science and Industry and Manchester Cathedral. Here's some pictures of there, I think they will tell better than words.

Library was round building with roman architecture.

The ceiling
Faces of people at book shelfs
Manchester was celebrating Chinese new year!
Manchester Town Hall
Some cool old airplanes at Science and Industry museum
Manchester Cathedral, why everything looks so beautiful in here? :D

I'm always taking photos of these windows

Ceilings! :D
